LEONARD (BABE) PROFITT, 75, RETIRED TRUCKER
     
Leonard (Babe) Profitt, a retired truck driver, died of cancer Tuesday at Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston. He was 75.
     The son of Leonard and Maggie Senters Profitt, he was born June 13, 1917, at Ahsahka, Idaho. The family moved to Rupert, Idaho, in 1928.
     He graduated from Rupert High School in 1935, and in 1936 he returned to the Ahsahka-Orofino area, where he worked as a truck driver for several companies.
     He married Elizabeth B. Huminsky at Orofino Feb. 12, 1954. The couple moved to Myrtle Beach, Idaho, in 1973, and to Lewiston in 1978 following his retirement.
     He was an avid steelhead fisherman and enjoyed working on cars.
     He is survived by his wife at the Lewiston home; four daughters, Carmen Kay Ackerland, Catherine Jean Goddard, Teresa Jo Profitt and Joise Ann Bryant, all of Clarkston; three brothers, John Profitt of Baker, Ore., Virgil Profitt of Lewiston and Leo Profitt of Clarkston; two sisters, Mary Meyers and Virginia Page, both of Clarkston; and 10 grandchildren.
     Two brothers, Earl and Luther, and a sister, Ethel Slayton, died previously.
     Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston, with the Rev. Leanard Helfer of the New Life United Brethren Unto Holiness Church officiating.
     The family suggests memorials be made to Tri-State Memorial Hospital. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
